Cocoa is a registered, naturally-raised ram lamb that is 100% grass fed. He was a single, but his sire was a triplet, and his dam was a twin. He was born on February 25 and was 3.5 months old in these photos. He is friendly and very easy to handle, as is his sire. He comes from two great lines of registered sheep (Sand Valley Pastures in Alabama and Tavalin Tails in Tennessee), and his sire's line throws great color. We don't usually have parasite issues at all, but had some recently after we added some new sheep, and Cocoa did not show any signs at all. He has been very healthy from the beginning. His sire is RR on codin 171 and tested negative for susceptibility all common genetic sheep disorders. His dam came from a flock where the owner stated that all sires were RR. He was weaned early because he truly understands his future role and was effectively practicing on our ewe lambs, and we didn't want to risk the possibility that he had live bullets. We breed for healthy Katahdins that thrive on 100% grass, good mothering, parasite resistance, healthy hooves, and good, consistent growth with minimal inputs. Cocoa would be a great addition to a homestead looking for good, healthy genetics and an easy-to-manage ram.
Message me for more information! Cocoa is available after June 25.
